TOSB and STI Tree Planting Event

However, only leaders could attend the event held by the other company. For this reason, this year we got some tree-planting area provided by the TOSB company which STI belongs to, so all of our employees could participate in it. However, there was no extra area for breakfast in TOSB planting place, so we had breakfast on our company while watching the video of planting event for Mr. Miyawaki’s recovery from illness. During the time Professor Fujiwara Kazue visited STA in June, we received suggestions to plant a variety of tree species in the area, so we mixed the seedling pots before we let the participants plant the trees. We prepared the seedling pots that are the local species of the Banpho area, which were advised by Professor Miyawaki and Dr. Sirin when they had on-site visits in 2012. ASI Tree Planting Event

Before the opening ceremony, owls and hawks in a nearby natural park were exhibited to explain the biodiversity of the area. The animal show showed a rabbit and turtle competition, and children learned the characteristics of a crocodile, snake, and frog while touching the creatures. The temperature rose to 30 degrees Celsius and it was a nice day for tree planting. The tree planting was completed in about two hours, and the participants enjoyed a lunch of freshly cooked hot dogs and hamburgers.
